We weren’t sure that it would actually happen this year…but due to a bit of luck our annual BVI charter trip is ON!
We’ve been preparing throughout the past few days for what should be a once in a lifetime opportunity to charter in the BVIs from the time after Christmas to a few days after new years with a fraction of the normal traffic.
Throughout the end of the year, we’ll provide updates and reviews for each day of our trip. I’ve been scouring the web to find first hand reports from folks that have chartered since Irma and the content is slim…we’ll try to change that a bit.
So…what does this year look like?
We’ve been working with Melody and the crew at Vi Sailing as we have in years past. We find that working with a knowledgable broker yields the best charter experience, and in this case Vi Sailing has been great about filling the lull of information with first hand reports about the progress made towards rebuilding.
Melody and her team set us up with a brand new 2018 Beneteau Oceanis 48 “JDog”. The Dog had not been delivered to BVI Yacht Charters when the Irma blew through so we lucked out and will be one of the first to charter this brand new yacht. The folks at BVI Yacht Charters have done a nice job of updating regularly on Facebook and through their newsletter, as they rebuild their fleet.

This year we’ll charter 27th Dec – 04 Jan…itinerary to follow in a future post.
